Light and Shade at Warwick Castle

I jumped at the chance to be a helper on today's school trip to Warwick Castle.  It is an awe-inspiring place with parts dating back to 1068 and today was my third visit.  The light today was beautiful and it was magical to be there off-season as we almost had the place to ourselves.

 

A great day was had by all.

New Series of Grand Designs

I am delighted to see that Grand Designs is back with a new UK series starting tomorrow at 9pm on Channel 4.  The first show promises to be another challenging development - an ambitious self-build in Cheltenham just 25 miles from me.  I have no plans to restore an old castle or design my own house, but love to watch the determination, commitment and passion of the owners that do and, of course, the great presenter Kevin McCloud.
