Anyone who knows me (and plenty more who don't) will be aware of my ongoing search for a vintage map of Paris to fulfill a special commission. After months of searching old book and map shops, charity shops and the internet I came up with a beauty! Unfortunately it was so lovely and so old I couldn't bring myself to cut into it to make a lampshade (instead it will be framed and hung on my wall).
So the search began again and I am relieved to report that last weekend I made the winning bid on eBay for a later edition, less valuable, but just as charming, city map.
The wedding is tomorrow afternoon and the lamp will be winging its way to Kent overnight to be delivered to the bride's house in the morning.
Talk about cutting it fine!
I love that map, and your shade is beyond wonderful! I know the recipient will absolutely love it!

Hi BYW friend. I absolutely love this lamp. There's just something about a pink Paris map... :) Kelley

Thank you all for visiting and for your kind messages. The bride and groom were 'completely delighted' - so it really was worth all the effort!
