The final Japanese Anemone to flower in my garden is the dark pink one - Anemone x hybrida 'Prince Henry', I think. It is shorter in form (stems reach 24") and less vigorous than my early flowerer (with 60" stems).
The petals start out as quite a vivid pink, but slowly take on a washed-out look.
They bring a little piece of summer to my desk.
The three varieties have given me blooms from July to October, starting with the single pale pink Anemone x hybrida 'September Charm', followed by the single white Anemone x hybrida 'Honorine Jobert' and ending with this beauty.
I rather like the double, white Anemone x hybrida 'Whirlwind' too - I think I'll add that to my wish list!
This site may help you to identify your anemones, if like me you have inherited your plants with the garden.
