As many of you know I make lamps to order using a map of an area that has significance to the customer. I love it when I can go back to them having found the map that features their requested town/city and say it will sit perfectly within the frame.
One such city is Lincoln. Here I used an OS map dated 1963 and the way the map was folded means Lincoln sits beautifully centred.
Neither the stitched line nor the shade's frame obscure the places important to the recipient. It doesn't always work out that way.
Very satisfying!
